Mr Khalid Farooq is a graduate of 1973 of Punjab University, with a professional degree in Finance from United Kingdom having completed 06 years training with Josolyne Layton – Bennett and Co. Chartered Accountants in Birmingham. Since 1979, he is an Associate Member of the Institute of Administrative Accountants in Great Britain. Prior to joining the Fatima Memorial System/NUR Foundation, he has served as Audit Manager at Javed & Co. Chartered Accountants in Birmingham, UK. Mr. Farooq joined Fatima Memorial in 1992 as the Chief Controller Finance and have developed and managed the Department of Finance at the Hospital for 23 years. During his service in Finance Department, he was involved in financial control, planning and disbursals. In 2006, he was promoted to the position of Director Finance which he worked on till March 2015. Mr. Farooq was reassigned in March 2015 as the Regional Director of the Corporate Affairs and the MPH Program. During the tenure of Mr. Farooq, he has been part of all evolutionary measures, the organization has gone through. He was a key member in negotiating the PPP contract with Govt. of Punjab for the training of Nurses. When he joined the institution, there was a 200 bed hospital for Women and Children; currently it is 600 bedded teaching hospital with three ancillary colleges attached. Mr. Farooq has played a key role in the acquisition of a grant of charter for the establishment of a University in the private sector. He is also a key member of the MPH Program being launched by the NUR Foundation.
