Nur Center for research and policy is a policy think tank acting as catalyst and manager of change to evolve policies for social and economic empowerment of communities. It was established to address the need for well-crafted and efficient tools for policymaking, implementation, and institutionalization of international best practices in Pakistan. NCRP is endowed by Nur Foundation, an SECP registered, Not-for-Profit company.

OBJECTIVES:

  • To develop model community-based education facilities;
  • To develop models for the education of children displaced by calamities and disasters;
  • To develop vocational training institutes;
  • To develop and evaluate training curricula and methodologies for continuing education of school teachers;
  • To undertake Policy and Systems Research;
  • To develop models for outreach health services;
  • To undertake Health research;
  • To develop a methodology for leadership capacity enhancement;

To provide evidence based recommendations to strengthen and inform policy and reform practice in health, education and social sector

Mandate

NCRP is a board-governed institution committed to meeting the continuing educational needs of the healthcare professionals and to achieving substantive, long-term improvements in the public`s health through evidence-based decision-making generated through research, training, and policy consulting services. NCRP is a partner organization of the Fatima Memorial System which at the undergraduate level is mandated to offer degree programs in medicine, dentistry, nursing, and allied health professional fields. Continuing education courses are also offered for healthcare professionals. For the benefit of General Physicians, the backbone of the healthcare system, FMS is committed to providing excellence in distance education for GPs working not only in remote areas of Pakistan but also overseas. At the post-graduate level, FMS plans to offer Masters Degree and Doctoral Programs in Nursing and Public Health in the near future. Dedicated to research in various disciplines, Nur Foundation has been mandated to facilitate and undertake research and technical services (consultancy) on behalf of the Fatima Memorial System (FMS).
